Tips for taking dog on road trip

One of the leading causes for auto accidents is being distracted behind the wheel.  But we're talking about more than cell phone use or touching up your mascara!  If “dog is your copilot,” don’t let the furry friend have free reign over the vehicle. 

When you're behind the wheel, your mind should be on the road.  When you let Fido off his leash and he finds the cake you're bringing to the party, it gets more and more difficult to lock your attention to the task at hand.

The bottom line, without exception, is this: if you are driving, do not allow your dog to ride in your lap!
